This project is really close to home! I recently updated my bathroom with new Kohler and Sterling plumbing fixtures.
I now have a beautiful walk-in Sterling Accord seated shower stall, along with a Kohler mixing valve and HydroRail shower system, finished off with a “Quick-Install” Sterling clear glass shower door. Click below to see the actual install process:
After removing the old deep soaking tub, which I’ve been having trouble getting in and out of lately, I set in place the new Sterling Accord Walk-in Shower base, which is made to fit perfectly in a standard tub footprint. Note the cool removable seat that comes with the unit. Gonna love the walk-in!
Up next are the new roughed-in stud walls. If your tub already has surrounding walls, you can usually skip this step.
Easier to install than the stud walls, are the prefabricated surround panels that come with the Sterling Accord seated shower. Basically, all you need to do is snap them into place and anchor them to the studs. Note, the drain is installed.
Kohler mixing valve, Kohler HydroRail rain shower set-up, along with a Kohler FlipSide hand shower completes the plumbing package. Also, plenty of shelving in this shower stall!
The final step was my favorite because the Sterling Quick Install Shower Door is just like it says, plus there’s no cutting or drilling. So, the door was installed in less than 1 hour, which was great, because my wife said I needed a shower!
